Subject: [CR]Murray Serotta (?) and Bates on Ebay & 531 Jersey

Hi all,

No bids yet on this Murray Serotta "Olympic" frame. A few hours left in the sale. The seller implies that he's not sure of the bicycle's authenticity. It would be easy enough to call Serotta Bicycles and check the details and the serial number. Also, Paul Moskowitz of Recycled Cycles has owned one of these; he should know if it is wrong. I have a Huffy 7-11 Serotta, and most of the details of my frame are different than the Ebay frame. My Huffy has fast back seat stays, Henry James cut-away lugs, a flat Henry James fork crown, and no cable adjusters on the head tube. Also, by '84, one would expect that there would be shift bosses on the down tube? The "S" bent chain stays were not used on the Murray frames.
