WARNING: OFF TOPIC UNPLEASANTNESS FOLLOWS !!! (not recommended reading)

The following is all the "off list" posts "Bicycle Mark" mentions. They start with questions Mark had for me this past Sunday night. You list members can judge for yourselves. . .

See my web site at http://www.velo-retro.com for available catalogs.

I have a set on my Wizard #16 that were the last set that Art Stump had. There are Zeus pieces that would fit a Campagnolo seatpost but I have never seen a set.

The Gran Sport pedals I have seen are stamped "GRAN SPORT" on the barrels.

Sorry, I don't know...

Mark, this was a comment I made to Mark Ritz. You seem to have taken it as an attack on your riding.

Couldn't be further from the truth. Relax. Go for a ride, it is a beautiful day (I'm sure it is in Fresno like it is here in L.A. today).

I remember you left the list before because you felt the "experts" were subbing you by not answering your questions. Learn to not take everything so personal it is not meant that way at all. We are all on the list because we share a love of bikes.

Best regards, Chuck

Chuck:

Part of the quote that you used in your response, was taken from my post. Why shouldn't I respond to it as an attack on myself.

Well, that isn't/wasn't my point either. Others caught it though (my point that is), so I know it isn't my writing.

There should be absolutely no reason, regarding the subject of choice of brakes or no brakes on a fixed gear bike, for anyone to respond with the kind of remarks that seem to flow from your keyboard, and only your keyboard. Like I said, it comes from experience. Yea, I've come close to being hit on my fixed gear bike, but no more often than on my road bike, given the numbers of miles each bike sees. What happened could have happened regardless of the kind of bike being ridden. I would have responded in much the same way, and had the same results. Brakes or no brakes. But what this all boils down to is that it's still my choice, and repeatedly coming back with the same snide remarks every time you don't agree, won't change that.

You know Chuck, your messages reflect your personality. I met you once, I believe it was you as it was your catalog copies that the person was selling, in San Rafael at the "Trips For Kids" bike swap several years ago. I considered purchasing some of your catalog copies, even commented on how I thought it was a great idea, but after listening to your remarks and comments for several minutes, I walked away. My impression is that you have a huge chip on your shoulder, and you seem to think you have all the answers, and it comes out in the words that you choose when communicating to this list. You also criticize others for not reading the messages clearly, yet you make the same errors yourself. I also dislike hypocrites. You also tell people to refer to the Campy Time Line, when the answers aren't there.

Additionally, in response to your last paragraph. NO, you don't remember why I left the list!! I left because some jerk sent a message with a virus that made all text on my computer completely unreadable. I sent Dale a message about it (from my work computer), and you can talk to him to verify. The result was that I had to completely wipe the hard drive clean and reinstall everything. Since I don't do that stuff regularly, I had to wait for my brother to do it for me. Yes, I made a strong statement about certain list members not responding to my questions, but I did it in a way that those persons would know who they were. One of them figured it out, we talked, and all is fine between us. While the other person did not figure it out, I believe I learned the reason(s) for that too. My point then, was that I didn't want to be bad mouthing anyone specifically, so I was including statements that should reveal, only to those individuals, just who I was referring to. What I did back then caused quite a stir within the group and I followed with an apology and explanation, and if your recollections were on the mark you should remember that post more than those that came before it.

So, all of that said, maybe it is you who should go for a ride and cool off. Better yet, try reading things more carefully. And maybe, when expressing your opinions, you should let the rest of us know that they are just that, your opinions. You know, I remember a friend of mine once saying: Opinions are like A__ H____, we all have one, and they all stink. I think that seems rather appropriate right now.

So I guess this means we won't be exchanging Christmas presents this December?

As you so charmingly put it Mark, "Opinions are like A__ H____, we all have one, and they all stink. I think that seems rather appropriate right now."

Excellent troll "Bicycle Mark". Apparently you're a little less than honest. I wondered how you could be looking at the Timeline and be completely unaware of the reprints. Actually you knew about them for years. And a chip on your shoulder. You're a fake, Mark.

And you come to me for my help in finding you a part and an answer for your Campy pedal question. What a fake!

Bye "Bicycle Mark"!

Well, Mr. I know it all. I have the last word! You are hear by blocked from access to my computer. You rarely provide any valuable information to the list, so I won't be missing anything but the petty crap that you seem to be so experienced at dishing out, but so piss-poor at taking from others.

Mr. Mark Perkins to ass holes like you!
