the dropouts at the ends of the trailer fork legs drop onto the axle of your rear hub, underneath the nuts or qr. the eyelet on that dropout is just vestigal from when it was a stock dropout - they just havent been removed. theres also a set of unpainted aluminum stays that run from the trailer fork legs near the pivot to a point about midway up the seatstays of the bicycle.

which gives you the basic idea. theres a few differences, but its the same pattern - that illustration is a rebour drawing of a goeland "51" - the trailer that the taylors patterned their camper trailer after.
