Hi Dave, You mention the Paramount collector community. I would like to communicate with this community. I worked for Schwinn from 1964 to 1992, on the West Coast. As a former racer I, of course, rode Paramounts. However prior to working for Schwinn I was a Cinelli, then Masi guy. I still have my 65 P14 track bike, original except for the wheels. A road bike received at the same time was stolen in 1971, but I replaced it with a 71 P15, as by then I wasn't in very good shape, and I appreciated the alpine gearing for the hills around San Jose. I am now retired and 2 yeas ago built up a Premier Edition (92) Waterford with Campy 10spd. Last year I hooked up with the Vintage group in So. Calif. (lived in Orange Co. since 72), and now find myself hunting down so many of the parts and things that I once used and then moved on to the newest, fastest things on the market. Fortunately, I have found that I did manage to save quite a bit. I also have 84, 86 Paramount frame sets, a complete 89 OS, a 50 th anniversary frameset, an 82 original Waterford Paramount with Campy SR, a 77 Paramount never ridden, and a Black Phantom and Orange Krate for good measure. On the Cinelli/Masi side, I retrieved my own 1964 Masi road bike, which I sold brand new when I went to work for Schwinn. Just recently I purchased 2 Cinelli frame sets, a 63 road and a 70 track. I order to ride period correct bicycles, I will rebuild the P15, and along the way refurbish the Italian guys. So let me hear from the Paramount community.
