Brandon "Mischief Maker/Classic Curator" Ives- Your brief snippet characterizing Richard's frames is too far from the truth to not respond. Having previously worked in the shop where his frames are painted, I've seen over 10 years worth of Richard Sachs frames up close and personal, and I'd say they all looked "classic" to me. Your use of the term oversized here is a stretch, as the only tube Richard consistently uses as oversized would be the 1 1/8 inch top tube vs. the old school 1 inch--not so oversized in my opinion, but suitable for most riders, and for a few, I'm sure he's got some 1 inch lugs as I think he alludes to below. His frames are so classic looking, I can't even recall how often he's used straight 1 1/4 down tubes on his road bikes, if ever. And even if he did, his frames consistently evoke the best in the "classic" sense combined with a level of craftsmanship and taste unmatched. He's not America's foremost classic custom framebuilder for nothing. Look at his frames M'boy!
