Bruce,

I guess I was not clear (and understandably so I might add!) with my definition of “Europe”. Perhaps I should have said “the western portion of continental Europe” or simply “Paris/Madrid”. I see Europe as Europe and the UK as the UK. As to contemporary cycling book prices, I have rarely found any bargains in England, Scotland or Ireland when compared to the shelf prices in the US. In fact many of the English language books available to the US market are translated and distributed by UK concerns.

My experience has been that books, particularly French and Spanish, are significantly cheaper if purchased from the local books shops in Paris or Madrid. I apologize for the confusion.

<<Brett,

Not so fast with the USA v Europe book price comparison! I did a check and found that while I could get this book from Amazon in the US for about £26 including postage, the same book from Amazon in the UK would cost me £34 including postage. The only difference is that it would take 11-18 days to get here from the US and 24 hours from Amazon.co.uk. Since I'm in no hurry, I've asked the latter why I should buy it from them and await an answer.
