Subject: [CR]Snow Tires and Seat Stay Caps?

Dear Friends,

I haven't had time to read all of the seat stay cap debate, but one thing I'm sure of. I'm now convinced that fluted stay caps is as far as I would take this issue myself. If one wanted to elaborate on the specific variation of same (I prefer fluted semi-wrap around pointed end caps on double taper seat stays, handmade of course) then at this time I would call them Claude Butler stay ends. From what I've seen, thanks to Seth Finkelstein, I would say the closest style to what Masi copied is by far the Claude Butler. I don't think anyone reasonable would call Claude Butler an unknown or unpopular brand; and considering the age of the examples, they may not have first...................never mind.

Honestly, I'm beginning to wonder how such an odd issue has gotten this far along with no signs of letting up. How about we all just call them what you prefer. If someone doesn't know what you mean by it, resort to fluted or concave stay caps and everyone should get the picture. Elaborate on THAT if you have to.

My word! That's it for me on the topic. Next please.

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA I'd rather be making a beautiful pair than trying to describe them to someone. P.S. Hey there Joebob, how's it hangin'?
