Do you really need to take them out? If you are not replacing them, they can stay in--even if the bike is being repainted. It was common practice on English bikes to insert the fixed cup before painting and paint right over it, but the cup can easily be masked.
I made a fixture out of an old steel hub that I cut in half that I bolt through the BB shell to hold the wrench from slipping off the fixed cup. If you put the BB back together, you can use an old headset cup, a junk steel BB cup and the bolt that holds the crankarm on to hold the wrench on the cup. try to position the wrench so it is close to, and swinging toward the chainstay. That way you can use the stay for leverage. Finally, try not to tighten your setup too tightly, as the BB fixed cup tool can do a number on the paint of the BB shell.
Of course, everyone knows that English and Swiss BB fixed cups are left-hand threaded...

I'm feeling kind'a dumb right now. I've stripped two of my bikes down in preparation of rebuilds. Both have Campagnolo SR BB's. On both bikes I can't get the fixed cup to loosen. I'm using a Park fixed cup removal tool, both bikes are English thread. Never had a problem before with any other bikes. Any tricks or ideas on how to get them loose without ruining the cups (functionality and cosmetics) or ruining my knuckles?
