Hi Burl: The only problem you will run into is that of the brake reach, i.e., whether or not the brake pads will adjust far enough down to still work on the slightly smaller diameter wheels. The only solutions for too-short reach are either to find "drop bolts" (replacing brake center pivot bolt with a special one) or replace the calipers altogether. Neither of these are desirable options in keeping an old bike original appearing. Why don't you keep it as it is?
