I've posted a few more interesting tidbits about my virgin 1972 Masi GC:
Some other facts: The bottom bracket shell width is 70mm, (as expected), the bottom bracket adjustable cup has a normal width lock ring- not an extra thick one, and the headset has one washer, (although there are 1972 Masis that came with 2 washers). The wheels are both laced 4-cross with "Martano" decals that read correctly from the right/drive side, and the front tire label reads correctly from the right/drive side while the rear tire label reads correctly from the left side!
