Axle or Spindle , Which Is Correct ??
Why ??
What's the difference ?? ??
O.K. , so we all agree that hubs have axles .
And I figure that since pedals have middle parts which are supported on only one end , and since it's the middle part that goes around and around , while the outside cage stays in almost the same angle all the time . . . well . . . maybe that means that pedals have spindles instead of axles ??
Now what about the middle parts of bottom brackets ? They have equal things going on at both ends ( except for the chainrings ) . But , it is the central shaft which spins , while the bottom bracket shell remains in place .
So , do bottom brackets have axles ? Or do they have spindles ?
And why is one term correct , but not the other ??
