To all Silca Pump "Heads":

When the Silca frame-fit pump came out, there was a flare on the pump handle (to keep one's fingers from sliding off the handle while pushing against the internal air pressure) that went all-the-way-around.

With pump in-situ, this flared rim rubs against the seat tube.

At some point, they made the pump handle flat on the side that faces the seat tube. Anybody know what year that happened? I'm guessing early 80's?

Also, I'm assuming that the Silca frame-fit pump was first available circa 1974, since a Richard Jow/BICYCLING! review of a DeRosa imported by Talbot's Cyclery that year referred to the frame-fit pump as being a new item?

Thanks for any info
