Regarding the Cinelli "26 inch" wheel. I have owned a Cinelli track bike with the "special size" wheel. It is NOT actually a 650c wheel; it is a special size that Cinelli had made. It is smaller than a standard 700c, but larger than a current 650c wheel. The bike I had was NOS 1978ish 47cm track bike with full Super Record track group. It had the traditional 65mm wide bb shell and the 110mm spaced rear hub. The rims were Fiamme as I recall and a standard 700c tubular would slip over the rim entirely. I've also heard that a road bike with the small wheel belongs to the Kopps Cyclery family in NJ. Apparently a daughter had one from about 1965 or so, I've heard. Not for sale, from what I understand. Another one of Cinellis' ideas that never quite took hold.
