Brian,

Just over a year ago I sold a Colnago Mexico that I bought from Matteo. Upon opening the shipping box and glancing at the frame I knew it was going to be too big by a centimeter, but I built it anyway. Once built I rolled it out of the shop and threw a leg over the saddle and top tube and mounted that bike while gently rolling forward, three pedal strokes I took my hands off the handlebars as I always do on a new bike to see if it is straight. As I pedaled that bike with my hands on my hips a broad smile came across my face, this bike had what I call the magical mystery ride. One can describe it and only those that have ridden a bike with that feel can relate to that person as well as have a understanding of what they are talking about. My Rauler has that feel as well, perhaps because Rauler apprenticed at Colnago and built so many Colnago’s that it would have been hard for him to change much about the heart and soul of the bike. The feel of the Colnago ride is why so many of the peleton rode one with their sponsor’s paint and decals on them. On day I will find another Colnago that is my size, meanwhile, the Raulers will do.

Gearing up for the NORBA National Championship Series race this week.
