Subject: [CR]re-Zinc plating that is gold

The form of Zinc plating that is gold that I am familiar with is called Zinc Passivate. It is commonly used on surfaces that have a rougher finish than that provided for chrome or nickel and still need protection. It sometimes appears to have a bloom in the color but that may be due to the person doing the job rather than the process.Hope this helps, Geoff Duke in Melbourne Australia
