Well we have 2 resources for Panto stuff, not much in custom work even though I'm having a NOS GIOS TORINO done up Special! Always liked GIOS TORINO but the panto stuff was lagging a bit!...........A GIOS with Panto work such as OLMO and Colnago is what I really wanted...........Anow it's going to happen. Just installed a custom Panto Ofmega Super Compitizone crank set. Chainwheels were Drilled and milled crank arms and spiders were also milled out with GIOS TORINO pantod into the milled out section of the arms, brake levers are drilled and milled as like the seat post and stem................Next is the faces of the brake arms these will be milled with drilling within the grooves back arm will also have milling on the arm that hold the adjuster post. Derailleur cages has been drilled out as well. Finishing touches is the face-plate of the NR rear derailleur.............This will be milled and pantod GOIS TORINO!

As for my 2 guys that does this work, the first, he only want's to do bulk work. 25 pieces of each item and marque. And his cost are somewhat high! # 2 has a tooling up fee of roughly $ 55.-, this fee is for one item, whether it be 10 pieces or just 1 the fee still applys. Then there's his hourly rate? It goes up and down like a Yo Yo! $ 45.- one day and the next I'm looking at $ 55.-...................I guess you can figure out the cost of the GIOS.

I like to state right now...............I will not give out the names of these resources. They are 2 old guys who really doesn't want to deal with the outside world. If I push the wrong button then it might be all over for us, So to say, we are playing it safe. And they only do this type of work during the off season ( Winter! )....And we have most of thier time booked up for the next 2 years. Thanks to Cecile for breaking the ice for us, it took some talking and arm twisting to have them bring their tooling out of retirement..........One guy said geeze it's been almost 20 years and I'm not sure if I can still do it anymore. It showed with the first few items, they were really rough!!..............Several batchs after that and it's looking a lot better.

As for the main Panto guy!..........It was only by chance we ran into this shop, we went in there to buy some stuff which we received a lead from one of our gophers..........Went in for a look and it was all gone! The gopher snagged it all few hours before our arrival! Of course we were a bit mad that this guy would lead us to some stuff only to have it bought from under us. OH WELL, such a life! Anyway we took a look around and I said hey! I want those rings!.............Boy it was a lot of work in trying to get these rings! A little while later he gave in! Then I said I wish I could find another 10 pieces!............He looked at me and pointed to himself and said ''ME!''.........Went back into the old workshop! And off came the covers to his riggs!..................A relationship was born.............As for the gogher, he's now in the dumps!...........And slumps and has received his bumps!! And now he's a grump!

So if in need, contact me off list and we can get you in the books for this coming winter. It won't be cheap but then again we all know what a good machine shop in the States would pinch you for, a lot more that these old guys overhere.

Does anybody do pantographing anymore? Do you know of anybody that does this work? I would like to have a few Nuovo Record parts engraved.
Thanks,
