If you read what I said it was"red white and blue chevrons". Do they look like chevrons to you? They look like multi coloured rings to me. Or am I blind bald and barmy. I am sure that the re-inforced track end was in use prior to the dates Hilary quoted. The badge to my knowledge in 51 was the better quality shallow brass enamel type and not the deeper relief pressed one. There is always one sure way to know if this is a 51 Claud, the frame number will be under the BB and should be something like 514 in one line which equates to 51 April and under this the frame number which would be in the 2000 region. Quite often CB is stamped on the BB shell although this is not always the case. Export Clauds normally had the rare Worlds Leading lightweight transfer fitted. I have supplied extensive photos of this transfer to the VCC Butler marque enthusiast Mr. Colin Mathews. Hopefully the frame number will sort the year out.
