You might have noticed the bolts were 16 mm and not 14 or 15 as on other cranks? As far as compatibility with other cranksets...is there anything wrong with your Stronglight crank? I think you mentioned it was on a Raleigh, so you didn't encounter French threading, right? If you really need to put a modern crank on it, I'd just install the matching cartridge BB and enjoy a maintenance-free setup. Save the Stronglight BB to go with the cranks for a project where you'd go vintage. Or to swap back if you want to convert your Raleigh back to OEM. Just my opinion, and good luck however you decide to
proceed.
