Sounds to me like what you're really asking is, "Why are some people famous and other equally talented people not?"
No. This was the question: "Are their wheels actually better than other good wheel builders and , if so, how?"
Nothing to do with fame or notoriety. Are their wheels betters than other good wheel builders or aren't they? If so, why? Nothing to "hash" out that I can see.
