All Italian, French, Spanish... bicycles are female, hence La bicicletta (Italian), La Bicyclette (French)...
Only when you speak of the more colloquial 'bike' can it revert to being male: le vélo (French), il ciclo (Italian). All of my nice Italian rides are female. I suppose most American bikes would be male: Huffy, Ross...
Perhaps we can do something to ensure there are more female American bicycles:
Buy from Richard Sachs, Brian Baylis, Richard Moon, Dave Bohm... I believe
these builders specialize in female bicycles.
