OK, I feel a right fool.
I bought a NOS GB "Bibi" stem for my Raleigh Competition GS Project from Hell. And a pair of Cinelli 64-40 handlebars. And the two don't fit. Duh! My local cycle shop told me that the clamp dia. of the GB stem is 25.8 cm and the Cinelli bars are 26.6 cm. I've never seen bars listed with a 25.8 cm clamp... are these some oddball size or?? This project has more than it's share of surprises so someone tell me I am doing this all wrong. And does anyone out there have a pair of alloy 38 or 40 cm bars, preferably not Japanese that might fit this GB stem?
