FedEx Ground wins hands down over UPS and not just on price. Their local driver around here leaves his cell 'phone number on my voice mail at home so I can call him if I'm not at home when he makes his usual delivery. I ring him back and he'll come back the same day! Try getting UPS to do that. We have two cycle collectors on the same floor of this apartment (!) and he's no longer surprised when another cycle box comes his way.

UPS is very hard on bikes and makes zero effort to deliver anything. They seem to prefer to paper your door with those sodding yellow notes. Even if you're at home when they call! I'd ship bagged cement by UPS but nothing more delicate.

Overseas shipments from England... I researched FedEx, UPS and ParcelForce. The first two had size limitations, ParcelForce did not and were cheaper. This is delivered in on the US side by USPS. Excellent service and careful handling.
