Dave,

Read in context as Ernesto explains the origin, he's talking about having an "ace up his sleeve", not a bunch of flowers. I never heard of the "Ace" of flowers, either. It's CLUBS! The flower thing began as an overthinking, second guessing, God I wish it was flowers, statement the first time this all came up. Let it go. It's Clubs. Ernesto himself came up to me at the NY show in about 1983 and looked at a bike I had on display and flew into a rage and threatened to sue me for using his trademark, the club, on one of my frames! The bike had my typical heart, spade , club, diamond cutout treatment, one on each lug. I usually put the club on the bottom head lug. He wasn't pissed off because I stuck a flower in with the other card suits. It's a club. One of his representitives came back later and apologized for the obviously mistaken Ernesto. Apparently he didn't realize that what he owns is HIS name, NOT a symbol that has been public domain for probably hundreds of years. I have to admit that I got a little thrill laughing in his face as he was about to blow a gasket right there. I suspect it was a good thing that he could not speak English. I could not understand him, but he knows laughter in any language. Oh, and BTW, it's clubs. I should also mention, it's clubs. Or put another way, it's clubs. Backwards, it's sbulc!! Clubs it is! I'll have a club, thank you. If it was a flower he would be after Columbine. I still think it's clubs. On second thought, it's clubs. No wait, I change my mind, it's clubs. Hey, I'm Erenesto, let's go flower a baby seal! No wait, I think we should use a club instead. Can I join the club? Ernesto probably has a flowerfoot, no wait, it's a clubfoot! Holy club, Batman! BIFF, POW, CLUB! Thirsty now, how about a club soda. Hey, how about them CLUBS! Get me my golf clubs, I think I see a seal on the course. Read the article, it's clubs!

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA Once I had an former girlfriend who told me she and a girlfriend went for a ride with this macho former Navy Seal guy and they beat the crap out of him and left him in the dust. They were about to form an exclusive womans cycling team here in San Diego. I suggested the name "Club Seals", and they took to it like, well like a club to a seal. Ture story. You can check it out. It's clubs, BTW.
