Just kidding about the grab bag Bianchi, I never bought any of the grab bags. But, I must post to the list that about 4 days ago, a complete bike I won from Cyclo-Network did indeed show up at my door here in Detroit; the right item, as advertised, and safely packed.

Matthias didn't send confirmation of payment, or respond to my first "what's the status?" email. But he did respond to my second, more delicately written email. He spoke nicely (not in just short sentences) saying that the bike had been shipped a couple of weeks prior, and that he would get the confirmation information from Carsten if I needed it. I replied that I was satisfied with his response, and that he need not dig out the receipt. Sure enough, a cool 1950s Bartali city bike (that turned out to be too big for me) showed up two days later.

Despite hearing all the horror stories about undelivered goods, I have also heard many stories about recent follow thru on the Cyclo part, and I can now add to them. Previous to all this grab bag - disappearance stuff, I had three outstanding transactions with Carsten ... perfect. I guess I just had a gut feeling that I could go ahead and buy the Bartali from Cyclo-Network, even in late Nov. when others were having the issues of no delivery.

I hope that it works out well for everyone else still hanging, and I urge that a gentle countenance be used by anyone still sending off emails to Matthias.
