Subject: [CR]Raleigh Lenton Grand Prix '61

Do any of you kind and terribly knowledgable folks have the Raleigh catalogue listing and specs for the Lenton Grand Prix c. 1961? And or a pic?

I have a lead on one for sale. It's needing the spec brakes and levers (I believe these were GB Sports with hooded levers). Someone has replaced the original Cyclo-Benelux front derailleur with a Campagnolo Valentino which has got to go! Was the front Cyclo derailleur on this model for '61 cable operated or rod activated? The machine has two CB gear levers and brazed boss fittings so I think it must have been cable. Rear is a CB 4-speed Mark 7.

Colour is Sunset Yellow with black peak head. Were the cables, handlebar tape, mudguards and pump black on the '61? "Reg Harris Road Model" torch transfer on the seat tube!

This was the last of the famous Lentons and also, I believe, the last year Raleigh built true lightweights (Reynolds 531 tubing) in the Lenton Blvd. works in Nottingham. So possibly a nice "cap" to my collection of Raleigh 50s lightweights.
