I'm not sure how Ken Toda's post re his chrome PPs came thru without an email address so I'll address my question to him via the list.

I'd like to ask Ken and anyone else who has a PP what year they are and if they are paint or chrome? It would be interesting to find out what time period the Prugnat lugs were used and if they were used exclusively on chrome versions. My chrome PP-15? is E71xx and the red Nervex P-10 is J71xx.

Ken's post re his 2 chrome PPs and my observations indicate that the majority of PPs are chrome. Why is this? I have been told that Prugnat lugs required less finishing than rougher Nervex which is a factor to consider in a chrome bike but the head lugs are chromed in either case so this isn't a convincing reason for Prugnat on chrome bikes
