Hello, up on the block is a late 50s Light Blue Maino Italian road frame. The original owner told me he got it new in 1957 and showed me the pic. of when he was the 10 year-old proud new owner of the Maino! Serial number is 190299, stamped on headtube. Frame measures 56 cm. (center-center seattube, and 54.5cm. top tube (center to center). I believe that it is Columbus tubing, but not positive, takes a 26.8mm. seat-post size. Campagnolo "pin-hole" rear dropouts (rear 120mm.), and Campagnolo fork-ends, with original fender eyelets front and rear! Masi style fork-crown. Frame includes all original parts that had Maino stamped on them. The FB Maino stamped crankset is in nice original shape, very little pitting. It is equipped with Simplex steel chainring adaptors that convert to Simplex six-hole alloy 50t/47t rings, arm length is 170mm (c-c). Crank has original cotter-pins and bolts. Also included is the Maino chromed seat collar, bottom bracket (stamped Maino on fixed, and adjustable cups), and the Maino pedals, which have M stamped on both sides of each cage, and on the center shaft. Pedals feel smooth, but will need re-chroming. Pedal cages are very straight, with no bends or scrapes. Original headset is not stamped Maino, but has nice chrome, with no pitting. Frame is in restorable condition, will need re-chroming on the fork-ends, dropouts, and head-lugs, and a repaint. Maino is still visible on the downtube on both sides. Brazing quality is above average, for the time. I also like the arched rear brake bridge. You will see the 1 inch long mild dent in the photo with Maino on the down-tube. The only other dent is a very small one on the middle of the seat-tube. These can both be patched easily, and structurally the frame looks good, no signs of heavy stress. Has nice original Maino head-badge. This is a nice opportunity to restore a famed Italian classic. All Maino stamped parts are included with this frame. Buyer to pay $35.00 shipping/insurance. International orders will pay added shipping costs. Thanks and good luck!
