There were six speed freewheels but there were not off the shelf six speed ready rear hubs, no? Did any hub manufacturer offer such? You had to change the axle spacing yourself to accommodate the six speed freewheel. Also does anyone have a frame from the fifties that had rear fork six speed spacing?
