Subject: [CR]Ross Signature Purchase/Comments

Another bottomfishing expedition.

http://ebay.com/<blah

I think this is the touring model from the handmade Tom Kellogg/Jim Redcay era. Of course I couldn't find my catalog when I needed it. The problem is their are upper handmade Signature models and Taiwan made lower models. Does anyone know given the poor pictures?

Pros:

Solid color. The cheaper ones have contrasting headtubes.

Looks like a Shimano forged dropout on the rear.

Shimano 600 headset.

Possibly custom components- Duo-par and crank.

Cons:

Ordinary domed seat and chainstay attachment to dropout.

Plain looking rear derailleur cable braze on.

Not the all Shimano 600 like I remember for the second model down.

All part of the fine art of e-bay bottomfishing. This would be a good candidate for refinishing at http://www.wheelfineimports.com . That is, I believe, the New Jersey shop Dale was referring to. They are very reasonable, although not the place for those wanting perfection. My hope is they have the Ross decals should the bike be worth a repaint.
