I just put up photos at http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/fourwdvw/my_photos

I'm hoping people can access yahoo photos without being members, there is no membership info visible to me, but Yahoo "knows" my computer. I'm sure I will hear about it if some of you are blocked.

After doing a New Year's Day century on my Atlantis commuter I promised myself a lighter bike for regular use. Larry Black had just posted to the list that he had some NOS Holdsworth frames he wanted to move, so I went up to his shop and came home with the lovely blue Holdsworth Special.

This was a budget operation, so a dinged and mis-painted Centurion Ironman became an organ donor, contributing a Shimano 600 group with Araya rims, a Nitto Technomic stem and Nitto 115 "Olympiad" bars.
>From Larry's parts bin we came up with some no-name pedals with Christophe leather tipped toe clips, newer Shimano bar end shifters, and a blue (!) Silca Impero pump.

I mounted a (splurge) Ti Brooks Swift in Antique brown. Three coats of amber shellac and two of clear brought the brown cotton bar tape into about the same tonal range as the Swift. The other splurge was two of the very fine brazed Nitto water bottle cages.

I've only put about 20 miles on it, but its really smooth and fun. I'm mostly going to use it for longer distance rides, maybe try a brevet or two. Its exactly what I wanted.

I also posted pictures of my old buddy, the 1970 Raleigh Super Course I bought new. Its pretty much original: note the elegant long Huret shifters, and the still very comfortable Brooks B15 Champion Narrow. I've also included close-ups of the lugs and the "anniversary" oval badge.

This bike was repainted six or seven years ago. I'm still not sure the color match was perfect and the decals aren't quite right, but its still a great bike that gets attention wherever I ride it.

Please enjoy!
