Subject: [CR]Maatrix rims

Tom asks:

"I have come into what seem to be a very fine set of aero tubular Matrix rims. I was kind of proud of them. Mentioning them to a fellow biking enthusiast the other day I was rather stunned when he remarked that they came on Treks. Is this true? Can someone run down a brief history of them? I thought they were quite high end, but perhaps I am mistaken."

A rather brief history:

I believe that Trek made Matrix rims from the start. I suppose they didn't call them "Trek" as that might have worked against OEM and aftermarket sales.

More recently, Trek made "Rolf" rims and now makes "Bontrager" rims.
