Cannot speak for Pivo stems...but recently replaced an AVA stem with a sturdier ATAX.It seems most french bikes exported had an alloy exposed rear bolt design....some were just better constructed than other. The Atax has a nice pseudo lug design, and works well on my vintage french ride....ebay has french stems on occassion to view...ice storm happening now,,,,no riding or driving today...hell..walking is trecherous..come on Spring!
