Subject: [CR]What happens when you bid overseas

This is cautionary tale for those looking for bikes in Europe: "make sure you know what you are bidding on!"

The following auction appears to be for a quite attractive early 80's Colnago: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2782980881

The auction text however clearly states:

"ACHTUNG hier bieten sie nur auf das Bild!! Das Rad ist in der Auktion 2781571176 !! Habe mich da in der Angebotsbezeichnung verschrieben, ein "COLANGO" kennt ja keiner ... Danke fürs Verständnis!"

which translates into:

"Attention, you are only bidding on the picture!! The bicycle is in auction 2781571176!! I made a mistake writing out the auction text, nobody would know a "COLANGO"... Thanks for your understanding!"

Apparently the seller realized he made a mistake in his original auction text, but as he already had a bid was not able to correct it. He therefore placed the second auction to 'make up' for the initial error. Hopefully reason will prevail.
