Hello fellow Listmembers,

I've been watching this situation and I can idenify with both groups. I won an auction back in November from Cycle-Network. I promptly sent my payment and waited... Mathias emailed me in Dec. indicating that my item will be shipped with others via Fedex and will arrive before Christmas, he also hinted that all was not well with Carsten. Well, to date I'm still waiting and Carsten recently sent me an email reassuring me my item is on the way. In order to put this situation in context, I have to review my previous dealings with Carsten. A number of years ago, I stumbled upon his Cyclo 24 website inwhich his early 50s Cinelli Mod B was so prominately displayed. I emailed him and asked to be considered if if he decided to sell it. The bike appeared on Ebay and was quickly snapped up. I missed out. Carsten asked me if I would like to have two 50s era Cinelli frames, free! just pay for shipping. After paying him $65.00, he sent me a 1952 Cinelli mod B frame and a Riviera along with a big box of 50s saddles, Simplex and Huret parts. Granted, both frames needed work, the point is is that he could have easily sold these items, but opted to give them to me. Carsten was selling a 1948 Singer tandem. I did'nt have all the the cash, and asked him if he could give me 3 weeks to get the money to purchase it. Carsten offered to accept half of the payment and send me the tandem anyway, and send him the balance when I get it. The tandem arrived in less than a week from Germany along with the tandem was a box of tools, cables for 50s Simplex changers, cotterpins, ect. All this was an extra, perhaps an expression of graditute. I won an auction for a 50s Cinelli on German Ebay. I was having some communication problems with the seller, Carsten offered to have the frame shipped to his business and ship it to me free! Clearly, in my particular situation his generosity out ways any comtempt. We all go through peaks and valleys in our lives and we stumble. It seems to me that he has stumbled and is trying to get it back together.
