Although I've been known as one who likes to see correct values on rarer items, this unit is just not a rare a piece as the seller and bidders might imaginbe. If I were one to wish for things instead of one who would rather will than wish, I would wish to be able to contact the bidders and offer tham such levers for less than the winning bid. The two-cable system was a bit of a pain and so were many of those too-short-stoker-top-tube tandems on which they came.

The most interesting such bit, and one that should be worth tons more, though Off-Period, was classic framebuilder Rodney Moseman's well-engineered Campy Ergo dual brake cable and adapter.

Hello, There is currently a single mafac tandem lever on ebay. Item # 2220498346

It is over $200 and has not closed yet. It has an open back and dots between the levers. It is exactly like the one on my 70s Gitane Touring tandem. Why is this lever worth so much? Is there a mafac timeline? I have an identical lever with a partially closed back and no dots between the letters, is it newer and in comparison worthless?
