As part of my loot from Westminister, I got a neato Italian threaded Edco BB unit. Never having used one of these before, I thought I would reverse my usual practice and ask for advice BEFORE I rush in and hash things up.

1. My recollection is that these BB's were Campy compatible, using the Campy spindle taper. True or false?

2. The bearing cartridge assembly is located by two adjustible aluminum cups which are secured by two lock rings. Being a threaded interface, and aluminum touching steel, my first impulse is to liberally grease the threads before assembly. However, being Italian threaded, my next impulse is to install the drive side cup dry, or using blue Locktite. What is the correct way to install these units? Grease on the left threads, locktite on the right? Or does the right side lock ring provide enough holding power on the right side without locktite?

Thanks to all who said hi, and gave good advice on the Wizard frame. I'll be sure to post pics after I get the whole thing put together.

Tom Adams, finally back in Shrewsbury NJ
