Subject: [CR]Campagnolo 1037 "diamond C" pedals; and eBay outing

Hi everyone,

This is Ted Baer, I am back on the CR list hoping to find answers to some questions from some real Campagnolo experts.

I have read the archives, and it still appears as though there is a mystery surrounding the Campagnolo pedals that are engraved with the letter "C" in a diamond and numbers 1037 (model number) on the alloy bodies of the pedals.

I purchased the complete Campagnolo catalogue compilation while at the recent Velo Swap in San Francisco. The chrome steel pedals THAT ARE engraved "C 1037" on the pedal bodies do not appear in any catalogue (#11 through #18).

I have contacted numerous top tier collectors from around the world, but still have not found a concrete answer as to the date of manufacture of these pedals. One collector believes that they were made from the late 60's through the early 70's.

Furthermore, there is a rumor that the engraved "C 1037" pedals were made as a special run for Carlton bicycles. (I am fully aware that the "C" in the diamond is one of Campagnolo's trademarks.)

My questions quite simply are: Approximately when were these pedals produced? AND: Were these pedals indeed produced for Carlton bicycles?

I am currently selling a set of these pedals. I am "kjnkjnkjn" on eBay. You can see them at: http://ebay.com/<blah

Thanks for the help!
