What I did back then (mid-late 70s): After the endless grayness of Campagnolo gray housing I REALLY liked using the black housing, especially when the Campagnolo black rubber hoods came out (sunray logo and later shield logo). I thought the black housing and hoods worked great colorwise with the black saddle and black tire treads. Of course this was when I was getting the Campagnolo components anodized black too ;)
