Subject: [CR]Simplex mech on Campy drop: was: Hacksawn Dropouts: A Smoking Gun?

With all this talk on putting a Campy shifter on a Simplex drop out, I'm now curious about the reverse procedure: putting a Simplex rear mech on a Campy drop out.

Was it done via an eared washer ala Huret Duopar and a different pivot bolt? Or were there so many Campy compatible Simplex mechs that it hasn't been a problem? Are there acceptable "field expendient" methods for making this combo work? What has restrained me from pursuing several Simplex mechs in the past are concerns about putting a Simplex shifter for a Simplex dropout on a Campy drop out.

Any tips out there?
