Fred and others... Pete Paine and most UK sellers in the know use ParcelForce which is part of Royal Mail and hence the delivery on the US end is always USPS.

I had two bikes shipped from England recently. Everything else about this project was an unmitigated disaster EXCEPT the shipment. USPS and Royal Mail did a great job with careful handling and very quick service. ParcelForce was also the cheapest of UPS, FedEx etc. and had no size limitations.

So good to hear there's another classic Brit bike in the neighbourhood...!
