Subject: [CR]CLeaning Your Bikes

My commuter bike is a mid-70s Peugeot PX-10. It gets ridden 200 miles/week, rain or shine with little opportunity for maintainace between rides. I have switched to a stainless steel chain to cut down on rust when my bike gets put away wet (which is often in New Orleans) but I am interested in ideas regarding the best way to wash a bike. I don't have hours to spend and I'm not "detailing" this bike for a show - I just want it to be clean and lubricated to minimize damanging wear and rust. I have tried many products. My latest trial is using Mop and Glow which does a reasonable cleaning job and leaves a nice shine but has few solvent qualities for removing oily dirt from the chain, etc. I used Simple Green for a while but began to have rust problems. I have never used the "foaming" Simple Green.

Ideas, success stories, suggestions?
