Uh-oh; I sense a thread starting.

My favorite, although only loosely tied to bicycling: I rode around the Bodensee (on the Swiss-German border) a few years ago. I noticed that many hotels, on the lakeshore, which catered to swimmers, called themselves "Badhotels" ("swimming hotels"). One, in particular, was several stories high, and had BAD HOTEL in 10-foot-tall letters across the top. I didn't stop there.

There were also, by the way, a few "Radhotels," or bicycling hotels. But I suspect that the term "rad" is passe by now; I'll ask my kids...
