Amazing discussion here - albeit a bit contradictory to my experience! The best thing that ever happened to the shifting on my NR equipped Atala was to have the Campy NR shift levelrs break while touring in the middle of nowhere. The only replacement available was a set of Simplex Prestige levers. For me at least, the shifting improved immediately. (Of course I can't rule that the NR levers were working improperly before they finally broke.)
