I'd have to agree with Mr. Schmidt; especially since I own an early Italy 3V ;)

An interesting parallel is that the California built Gran Criteriums are universally acknowledge to be cleaner brazed and filed, but the Italian Gran Criteriums have more mojo and are worth more (to collectors).
