Dear Dale and Sheldon. The multiplicity of semantically redundant synonyms makes the English language quite unsuitable for discussing bicycles. I suggest that the list adopts Volapuk, Idiom Neutral, Ido, Interlingua, Novial, Esperanto or Interglossa. Any bicycle parts which are not yet in the chosen language can have words coined in the agreed manner by you, Sheldon. I trust your judgement implicitly.
