Trying to buff out some scratches in aluminum brake levers, I switched from the non ferrous compound for aluminum, over to one for ferrous stainless steel. It cut way faster and left a even better polish on the parts. It made the task much easier and quicker. The stainless compound I use is the hard grey type, not the oily stuff.
