I had hoped that someone else would point this out but...
The "evil" connotation of the word sinister comes, not from any prejudice against left handers, but form the medieval times of shields with coats-of arms. The "bar-dexter" on a shield meant that it's bearer was a legitimate scion of a noble house. The "bar-sinister" meant that the bearer was a bastard, but of noble blood!
