To make those among us who are not blessed(?) with a large collection of classic bikes feel less inadequate, I hereby confess that I possess only 2 on-topic bicycles:

1970 Bartali- 59cm all 531 Nuovo equipped throughout (originally fitted with Universal Mod. 61 CPs) beautiful but incorrect repaint by a local bike painter who does the high end frames for Kona and Softride. Chrome head and seat lugs. I created the downtube graphics based on the design from the race jersey worn by Gino seen in an old photo. I actually enjoy having the freedom from any pretense of originality the repaint allowed. I built a set of clincher wheels on the original LF hubs and fitted a Girardi Regal saddle in place of the (for me) less comfortable original Unicanitor. I had the rear triangle spread to 126mm to accomodate a 6s freewheel. Am considering fitting some Honjo Al fenders (need struts and hardware), fat 700C tires and a TA triple crank to make it into a quasi-grocery getter/town bike. The only original bits left are the crank (polished by me), the HS (still good after all these years!!!), the nutted old logo 1A stem (again polished), the hubset and the DT shifters. Based on the compliments and offers to buy I get riding this bike around, this bike's look appeals to all sorts of people, young and old, bikies and non-bikies alike.

My other ride: 1971 Cinelli Speciale Corsa. Tatty original paint and graphics, mostly original kit. This bike isn't much to look at but is literally the sweetest ride I've ever thrown a leg over.

That's it!,
