I have an early 70s Tour de France model. What can I say. Somebody gave it to me to get it out of HIS rafters. And it's been up there in the deepest darkest corner of mine ever since. I don't know why. What size do you ride George? At least I had the good sense to get rid of the Meral

Says "Service Course" on top tube, with checkered flags. Only on the drive side of the tube of this one. Not sure if that was characteristic or if the guys at Git had a little Raleigh moment. Sky blue paint w/ chrome half fork & stays.

Downtube was large chrome foil diamond shape wrapped around the tube, globe thing (sort of like the Pan Am Airways globe) with the letters "S" and "C" in it. A small silhouette (definitely a spell-checker intermission there) of France above that somewhere similar to what's on Joel's fork photo, some smaller items below that I couldn't make sense out upsidedown in the gloom but might have said "Made in France" in assorted languages. Sorry, have bike, but no digital camera at the moment.

The decals that Sheldon has are a later vintage, but I don't know what vintage.
