Actually its a great story, I saved the article on my home computer and will forward it to you when I get home this evening. The writer explains to the public in terms they can understand why we CR people enjoy bikes made by hand and heart and that are NOT made of unobtanium or some other machine/CAD produced frame.

Mike and Chuck,

I guess I missed something. I have been working more and typing less lately; is this article online anywhere? I got a call from my mother this morning saying that my Aunt who lives right near Chuck and the Rose Bowl called her saying something about bikes in the newspaper. My Mom said something about mention of her #2 son in the news. I thought to myself, crap, what did I do THIS time. Maybe one of my neighbors thinks I'm an international bike thief or some such piffle. The story should say that I grind them up and eat them in my attempt to beat the world record. What does it say about all of us kooks?

As I am reading the article, I mentioned to my wife that I know this guy, this guy and that guy and remarked how much fun I had at the Gorski MOY ride while pulling a west coast business trip in January 04. A touch of jealousy set in as I read further about the ride's details. I then look outside the window and watch the snow fall at a nasty pace...when is it going to end.

Well Mr. Schmidt, my excuse for not making your ride Chuck is that it was too damn far or I would have been there with you guys enjoying the day.

See ya in Greensboro
